My mom has a tick-infested three acres in Maine, and Lyme disease. I'm trying to explore good options for tick eradication. Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with keeping guinea fowl?

This is turning into the "how do I do X in windows/just use linux!" of fowl-based tick management questions.

This is a completely unhelpful comment (sorry) because I know nothing but what about introducing more possums? I know they eat a bunch of ticks.

Possums are awesome tick fighters but I don't know what to do to make the yard more possum-friendly

Not directly, but friends. They will make a difference in the tick population, quickly. Noisy like you would not believe. Not sure if possums are native to Maine, but they also attack ticks like it is their job.

People say they're a good alarm system because they squawk at intruders, but in reality they NEVER STOP with the terrible terrible noises. Personality-wise, maybe slightly more skittish than chickens on average.

Also, ticks live on mammals. She have deer, rabbits, etc on that property?
