what a ridiculous article from an author who has turned from being fairly interesting into basically a shill for the Sanders campaign

What is so ridiculous about the argument advanced in the article?

it's basically a fantasy of Trumpian skill and confidence, as opposed to the boring, mundane reality of Biden's polling against him. (I'm old enough to remember the Sanders camp advancing said head-to-head polling as the argument for *their* candidate in 2016)

Biden's polling against Trump (48 to 44) is identical to Clinton's polling against Trump at the start of January 2016 (47 to 43). The "boring, mundane reality" of these polls suggests to me that Biden would lose against Trump like Clinton did. What am I missing in your argument?

well, every other Democrat is doing worse than Biden, so if you want the best chance then maybe you should go for him.

That's an entirely different argument, though. I'm trying to understand why
@BeijingPalmer thinks this analysis of Biden's poor chances against Trump is so far beneath contempt.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
Because it's blatantly not actually about that but about the wonders of Bernie Sanders, and to the degree that it *is* about that it's essentially yet another projection of the neuroses of 2016.

I mean, we have a more recent election to work from. You know who did really well in that? Centrist Democrats. You know who didn't do particularly well? Leftist Democrats. I don't think there's a huge lesson there but I don't think there's a huge lesson from 2016 either.

The main argument in the article is that Biden's family is corrupt as sin, which will hurt his chances of election, and... that seems like a good argument to me? I don't get where this left vs. center stuff is coming from based on reading this article.
