I've been flying into San Francisco for over 20 years and finally got to land southbound on runway 19R, with the fancy view of downtown on final approach. And I hope you get the same landing blessing in the year to come. It's worth the ground delay!

1L/R for almost all domestic, but they use 28R/L for some transpacifics, including most flights to HKG. Here’s the last week or so of takeoffs for UA869: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL869/history/20191224/2125Z/KSFO/VHHH … (So in this case for most intercontinental flights, sit on the *right*. Including most to Europe.)

The 28R takeoff view is not that great.
