Well... Ironically, Guardian with all it's Snowden exposing holier-than-thou attitude towards tracking, has atleast 28 trackers on its site... there is no winning!
Why wouldn't they release a feature that allowed them to turn that stuff off just for this section and this series? It would be a day's worth of work in order for Snopes to cordon off any aspect of the site from third party tracking.
There's this great fear of being inconsistent to the point where publishers would be willing to be inadequate instead.
