Tuen Mun itself is a town near the border where every other store seems to sell either gold or diapers, catering to both ends of the cross-border trade. The foreign press doesn't normally go there because it's more than 30 minutes from a hotel bar, but it is really a sight to see

I've developed a theory that the foreign press corps is bimodal. They'll report stories that are convenient, or ones that require incredible hardship and fortitude to get to, before they'll report anything that requires mild boredom and inconvenience. That is reporter kryptonite.
