A nice vignette from a late-night protest tonight in Hong Kong. There's an Epoch Times reporter (white dude) who is reliably the most dramatic person at these events. I've seen him tell his cameraman to make sure to get footage of him getting shot, at a completely peaceful rally.

The Epoch Times, of course, is some bizarro Falun Gong right-wing God knows what entity. But free press, yada yada. So my boy was there tonight, narrating a minor scuffle with police like it was the Hindenburg disaster.

After completing his wide-eyed narration of the police yelling at someone near a Yau Ma Tei MTR exit, he checked his phone, turned to a bystander and asked, "which way to Nathan Rd?!"

Which is like being in Paris and asking where the Champs-Élysées is when you're standing under some kind of a very large arch. If you're at a Hong Kong protest, I highly recommend lurking around and eavesdropping on this fellow. Everyone has a lucky journalist and he is mine.
