There's a weird parallel story being formed of radical violence the past week. On Sunday, petrol bombs were thrown at the Court of Final Appeal and the High Court. Then, police found two GIANT bombs in Wan Chai. Now a small group allegedly attacks the MTR again? WTF intensifies

All the possibilities in this storyline seem equally implausible. I can't believe that this is a real thing, but I also can't believe that the police would fabricate such an elaborate set of schemes, or that China would set them up to look real. But one of the three must be true

All this against the backdrop of a peaceful 800+K march on Hong Kong island, and an enormous drop in tension and confrontational protest activity in general after the siege of PolyU ended nearly a month ago. These narratives don't fit with each other.

To the fishiness you can add the fact the hk gov is not freaking out or making statements to condemn these developments, contrast that to how they whine about broken mtr stations. The lack of response from SARG could indicate they know it’s bs and coming from the cops, not cn

That's a good point. I also bet they're a bit paralyzed and waiting on detailed instructions about what to do after this weekend's visit to Beijing
