Corbyn and McGovern are both examples of a change in party rules leading directly to disaster in the next general election, so I think they're worth studying whether or not you draw the same conclusion as I do

All fair points. If we take a broader look at western democracies, I would try and argue the opposite - as voters has become less involved in governance, they become easier victims for false narratives (brexit v1). I try to push for more direct involvement by citizens..
