Not sure about how difficult it is to get the chemicals. But the electronic part ie detonator is easy to make. honestly, not that hard to get some stuff in Hong Kong as we all know.
Ammonium nitrate is a common fertilizer and gets shipped around by the millions of tons. The Oklahoma City bomber used a truckload of it. TATP (which the other bomb was?) is easy to make from ingredients anyone can buy, but ridiculously dangerous to handle.
