It may astonish you to know, but having the imperial power crushing dissent claim to be communist (regardless of actual policies when it comes to workers rights and unions) can have a huge effect on the political language of your city.

But my point upthread is more that being terrible to workers and unions is a universal feature of communist parties in power (Kronstadt is a good early example of that), not an abberation, because in a marxist system they are potential rivals to power if not subjugated
