Americans have flimsy houses, and home renovation reality shows prove it. Try sledgehammering out a kitchen because it's a "gut job" in a 300-year-old European stone house and you would shatter your arms into powder. This is why I would like to watch "American renovator abroad"

I wonder how many millions of Americans commute each day from an open-plan office to an open-concept home, both the product of 1990's fads that they had no say in and hate. And even if they get a door, it's a foam-core thing you can hear everything through. Mostly beeping.

The british home hunting show with the american couple looking for the same in London, its a slow burn as reality dawns.

Not realising that the polite reticence of the real estate agents is actually them trying to say that their criteria are unreasonable, they charge ahead with an optimism that disintegrates slowly over the course of the show

Link please. I would also like to watch a show where Americans are looking for houses abroad. I work in an open plan office but get to come home to a 1907 house that has actual rooms.

House Hunters International has a lot of episodes like this. And the Americans are always wanting spacious houses with "character" without realizing that most of the world prefers modern housing when they can get it

I also like the remote-tropical-island ones that need to have room for extended family "to come stay with us." Listen fools I'm not flying 14 hours to end up in Nowhere Hurricane Roach Land PLUS staying with you

I feel like it's all code for "we will rent this place out on AirBnB", which is apparently all the rage with houses that get a celebrity makeover!https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/travel/waco-tex-needed-fixing-luckily-chip-and-joanna-gaines-had-the-tools/2019/12/05/4e6b7baa-1380-11ea-9cd7-a1becbc82f5e_story.html …
