I don’t get why people are complaining about having a bunch of different services. There are way more shows available now. Pick the service(s) you like and don’t pay for all of them. No way to watch all the content available. There are currently over 500 active series.

There hasn't *ever* been a way to watch all the content available, since the start of commercial television in 1940. But now, with nearly all new content proprietary to a subscription service, it's not hard to end up with one worthwhile show per service.

No, I mean no one called TV shows "content" back in the day. That's a post-web usage

your tweet makes more sense in that context. But content was used in the magazine industry before the web. Even the “content is king” phrase that people love to throw around was coined in the 70s. I think it’s probable that at least some people used content to refer to TV then
