Readers of twitter, what's the best description in literature (not sci-fi) of a communist utopia? In other words, what's Dante's Paradiso for Marxism? The best-effort work by true believers at imagining the world of tomorrow, as they understood it?
I'm more interested in contemporary stuff that would have been written or read by the people most captivated by the cause

There’s not much I knowthat isn’t sf, but as noted by another replier, some of the sf such as LeGuin is strong on material constraint. Stan Robinson’s Mars series e.g. Marie Louise Bernieri’s books talks about earlier socialist utopias by Wells and others too.
