I would be very surprised not to see an announcement coming that Hong Kong district elections (scheduled for 24 November) are postponed or cancelled. But I am routinely very surprised!

The confrontation at Polytechnic U right now is happening because police have cornered students and are charging in. In other words, it's a police decision to maximize confrontation. If there were a way out, people would have left hours ago.
