My thesis is that Republican voters place a great deal of value on white ethnonationalist policies, deregulation, and a generational lock on the Supreme Court, and will put up with any amount of Trump clown show in the pursuit of those outcomes

While that would be nice, there are a range of other outcomes that are more likely and still positive. For example: people who aren't always online and/or super into politics could become convinced that this corruption a) exists and b) is bad for the country.

Democrats did not play the corruption card enough, probably due to the now clearly obsolete belief in "civility" in politics. I would hope they don't fall for that trap again — they have a wealth of facts they can use now, and should. Otherwise this does nothing for them.
