Can anyone recommend a cheap ethernet cable tester, which does signal *integrity* and not just connectivity? Trying to troubleshoot why one of my sockets at home is intermittently dropping from 1gbit to 100mbit.

"Qualification testers" are >$1,000. This is to avoid spending an hour or two randomly re-punching cable ends. I think I'm going to have to do the random re-punching. Surprised there isn't a cheapo tool on the market which does an approximate job. Easy with today's components.

The annoying bit is it's *fine* for a while, then at some point from a day to weeks later, it's suddenly running at 100mbit instead, and replugging a dozen times fixes it until the next time.
