The centrally planned tech startup economy (where the planners are a few hundred venture "capitalists") has some social benefit, like deeply subsidized food delivery, but is also terrifically wasteful and not sustainable in the absence of giant slush funds of oil wealth.

Most of my Twitter wars about socialism are pointless because the kind of highly-regulated capitalism I love is isomorphic to most Americans' concept of socialism, but we have a golden example of the failures of central planning right in the middle of our most lucrative industry

Have you considered to what degree the US is reenacting the things Poland was criticized for under Communism? 1. Three family units living in a flat designed for one family. 2. Food insecurity 3. Stores/restaurants that only take special currency (hard currency/credit cards)

4. State secured monopolies treating you like garbage (telecoms, power companies, etc) 5. Constant surveillance 6. Need to have ID with you at all times etc
