The talk begins with reasonable premises, which, if put together, create a logic for being concerned about a superintelligence threat to humanity. Those premises need to be directly addressed. Particularly the one about the many forms a recursive learning machine could take.

I fully agree that those premises need to be directly addressed. At least as described by MC, the last premise (self-improvement; "the most American premise") didn't sound reasonable to me. But I could imagine addressees of MC's critique complaining it to be an unfair caricature.
