Perhaps. But "global warming" also predicts many areas will become colder. The event cannot be viewed in isolation, particularly if the response (i.e. PG&E and firefighting resources) impact the severity of the fires.

I live in Australia. Our fires are increasing in frequency and severity due to changes in southern oscillation. Due to seasonality, we also share firefighting resources with California. A drain on our resources leads to a drain on California's and vice versa.
