Gabbard "put her life on the line" in Kuwait and at the largest military base in Iraq, with "a base movie theater, two Base/Post Exchanges, fast food courts including Subway, Popeyes, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell (2007), Burger King, multiple gyms, dance lessons, and two swimming pools"https://twitter.com/BernieSanders/status/1186405744146554882 …

Why ignore the taboo Gabbard is breaking at the moment with her vehement anti-war / anti-interventionist stance? This isn't an assertion that her candidacy is perfect, but it's clear her policy positions have led to being de-platformed and marginalised.
-
I'm not ignoring it, this just happens to be a tweet about a different topic than the one you raise.

Also, the fact that you have little choice over these things greatly impacts the ethics of enlisting in the first place
-
I agree. Gabbard had a choice about whether to deploy, which is why I think she in particular should be held accountable for that choice.

Read her campaign bio. She had a free choice about whether to go to Iraq, and knew the details of the deployment.

Are you suggesting she signed up for that specific war?!
-
It says so right on her campaign bio. She elected to go on that specific deployment.
