I don't know if this was the case yesterday, but usually the blue dye contains strong pepper spray. They pepper sprayed the largest mosque in Hong Kong and dyed it blue.

I've been hoping there will be a protest march in Hong Kong in support of domestic workers, and now maybe it will happen. The attack on Jimmy Sham already resulted in outreach to the South Asian community. Carrie Lam is really unifying this city!

The idea of addressing many of Hong Kong's social problems by selectively antagonizing group after group is certainly a novel one. Another way in which the protests will cast a long shadow, however they end, provided Hong Kong remains

While the largest group of Muslims in HK are Indonesian domestic workers, there is a community of Muslims from the Punjab and India who have been here as long as Hong Kong has existed (like the Sikh and Hindu communities). The police just pissed them all off.

Well I dunno, it looked like the guys in the water cannon truck just happened upon a large group of protestors and ummm, we’ll, water cannoned the crap out of them. Are we sure this was directed at the mosque?
