As the article says, "air travel accounts for about 2.5 percent of global carbon dioxide emissions". It is responsible for ~5% of climate change, according to the IPCC. I would think that a lower carbon future is going to require less or no air travel, less steak and less hummers, it's not one or the other

Also nuclear powered air travel is not a something that could happen in the time frame we would need.
