hi hardwired smoke alarms with battery backup are a safety risk because they beep like mad when the battery is merely weak and can keep it up after the battery is out—very tempting to SNIP THE WHOLE THING but hey least it's not 3am like last time, ama if you want to hear a scream

I just replaced the battery with a brand new one and still beeping. Really close to snipping it off. Without the battery alarm, it works just fine. It’s hardwired!!The battery makes it less safe because I don’t have a choice but to snip it. :-(
