There is a way to withdraw from Syria that isnt low level negotiations in good faith with the party that had been helping you, encourage them to lower defenses, and then have your president double-cross them. That’s not done for the purpose of ‘limiting exposure to foreign war’…

Yeah I agree. It’s like how he saw Bush fuck up the hurricane response so then he went so hard on it in Houston. But I also don’t doubt he’d knowingly send troops to their death for something that he wants.

I'll punt this to a structural argument and say none of this should depend on the honeycombed mind of a single person. Congress really needs to do its constitutional duty when it comes to decisions about war
