It's curious that Derp State lawyers on Twitter are so zealous in their calls for impeachment, given that it would be legal malpractice to take a client to trial when there is a 100% chance of losing the case and another remedy is available, no matter how lofty the principle

This has been my basic position for a long time, but I'm starting to wonder whether there might be a political benefit to impeachment even without conviction. Thoughts on that?

I think that's a much more interesting argument. Like, would compiling an official dossier of Trump wrongdoing outweigh the mobilizing effect of a highly polarized impeachment process on his supporters? I can't see it denting his support in an America where Fox News is thriving
