Nancy Pelosi is right and Twitter is wrong! Adding this to the mountain range of hills I'll die on (when science invents the alpine bus)

How is she right? What is it about not holding anyone accountable that's tactically useful?

My read of the situation is that she sees the election as the way to hold Trump accountable, rather than an impeachment circus guaranteed to lead to acquittal

So basically if the other party holds the upper house then there's no point in doing anything?

If the other party holds the upper house *and* won't vote to impeach. In this case the other party's own political base is fine with POTUS so the Senators who haven't fled GOP already have no reason to impeach, and won't.

Yeah, but this is a long time to suffer, and for things to get way, way worse. What if North Carolina or Georgia-level bullshit plays out in every state?

Democrats, after suffering a humiliating defeat that none of the polls indicated was probable, and which won’t be investigated: Huh, we lost! How could this have happened? They wouldn’t rig the election, would they? That would be cheating! Haven’t learned from 2000 or 2016?
