Last week, the Hong Kong protesters did a "stress test" of the airport and the police were not able to catch thousands of them on an isolated, open road. This week, they've gotten the police to do all the work for them, by scaring and inconveniencing passengers all by themselveshttps://twitter.com/hkfp/status/1170202548571033600 …

Nothing says "Hong Kong is a free society open for business" like armored riot police doing spot checks and warrantless searches on your way to Disneyland or to go catch your flight. I continue to admire the ways protesters find to make the police here humiliate itself.

I just spent a couple hours at the airport, where staff tried to usher me out via this special elevator for not having a ticket. Protesters have succeeded in provoking a massive auto-immune response by the police, who do the job of inconveniencing visitors for them.pic.twitter.com/ctXdNCRQsB
