Dear LazyTwitter: please outrage me in one tweet about putting Parliament in a pirogue or whatever it is the new PM has done. Current outrage status: low. It seems like it just removes a few days from an already endless debate. But I am ready to be very outraged! Do your worst!

I have a vague memory of getting briefly outraged once about something called "bodyline bowling" after staying up all night reading wikipedia, so I know it is physically possible for me to care about British arcana. But I need help

Mostly I've learned that people don't know what a pirogue is. I am still not outraged! Why is rescheduling parliamentary stuff so bad? I'd understand if he had moved things until after brexit, but this just seems like it removes a few days of debate? Outrage me!

my feeling is that if his ideas were good, Parliament would like them and he would not need it to go away.

Due to previous foolishness, there's a hard deadline for October 31st or the UK crashes out of the EU. Parliament could fix this by passing a bill. By shutting it down after 3 days, unelected Johnson is trying to stop this. We have street protests and underground trains—come see!

But there's a chance to pass bills later before Oct 31. Also the deadline is about as hard as the previous hard deadlines, right?

The new leader, who recently emerged from a power struggle within the ruling party, has threatened to suspend the national assembly, using historic rights vested in a traditional tribal leader, if it continues to oppose his plans for radical economic transformation.

This sounds promising, but wasn't the assembly supposed to be suspended anyway, and then come back?

@BorisJohnson was elected by 92,153 members of the Conservative party and he is now closing parliament to curtail debating the most extreme #brexit scenario (no-deal); opposed by the majority of MPs and citizens.

It’s a move to destabilise the systems and norms of democracy by a bunch of horrendously corrupt hard-right extremists, who are disingenuously shrugging and saying “this is normal don’t know what you mean guv”. An authoritarian ploy to gag democratic dissent. It’ll probably work.
