There is a faction of Hong Kong protesters who are angry, reject non-violence, and are determined to confront police. How a leaderless movement successfully got them to hold back this weekend, in the name of unity, is fascinating. There was no tear gas AT ALL this weekend in HK.

i finished my march to admiralty, had my dinner and start staring at the screen until 00:10 when everyone is finally leaving. no one can predict what the frontline fighter will do, so my heart is like roller coaster-ing for straight 4 hours. 818 is a truly magical day.

I feel like half the city was staring at a screen, waiting! My hotel was near Admiralty so I went to watch. We were all so nervous about what the frontline people would decide!
