The ability to trivially speed up any recorded technical video to 1.5x or 2x (without raising the pitch) is one of the more glorious technical achievements of our age.

Speaking for myself, preparing a transcript is a small fraction of the total work involved in preparing a talk, and greatly broadens the audience. I understand this experience may be highly field- and speaker-specific
