Hello, my name is Pinboard, and I am smart, but I am not smart enough to correctly use or understand a password manager. I am not fully clear on what is local, and what is remote, and what backs up to where, and what on earth a "vault" is. Consider this my confession.

I was traveling and I wanted to take a subset of my passwords with me safely, and I could not figure out how to do this. When updating a password, I am never confident that it will get correctly stored. I don't even know how to install my password manager anymore-it wants cloud

I avoid password re-use by getting a new pet and naming each one a random 32-character string. But my house is overrun with cats.

I do not know how to tell someone to choose a long, random passphrase that they must never, ever forget, and then make them type that passphrase 31 times in the next hour to install a piece of software intended to replace "remember the name of your favorite sports team"

Settle a bet for me: my friend Bleichenbacher swears up and down that the first character of your password must be a lowercase "e". I bet him $100 he could not be right. Do I owe him money?
