Hello, my name is Pinboard, and I am smart, but I am not smart enough to correctly use or understand a password manager. I am not fully clear on what is local, and what is remote, and what backs up to where, and what on earth a "vault" is. Consider this my confession.

I avoid password re-use by getting a new pet and naming each one a random 32-character string. But my house is overrun with cats.

I do not know how to tell someone to choose a long, random passphrase that they must never, ever forget, and then make them type that passphrase 31 times in the next hour to install a piece of software intended to replace "remember the name of your favorite sports team"

1password supports something like this via Travel Mode: https://support.1password.com/travel-mode/ If you're curious / have more questions, /r/1password has 1password employees on it that could probably explain more than I can.
