It bothers me that this Advanced Protection Program feature (which protects against risky downloads) requires turning on a sync feature that hands data over to Google. FWIW, I think something chromebook-esque was mused about by some folks back during the Firefox OS era at Mozilla. But, it doesn't seem worth doing in a vacuum without a Google-scale service ecosystem paired alongside.
