It's exactly the point, actually. If you arm anyone or anything, they will use the arms to back power imbalances with violence. It's amazing that some people find it impossible to picture a world in which government doesn't hold the sole power of life and death over its citizens.
To me that says "other people should also have the power of life and death over citizens" and that sounds worse. What am I misunderstanding?
