Whatever argument you make for why privacy will collapse if end-to-end encryption is banned has to address the fact that people use Gmail, Slack, Telegram, Facebook, SMS, banks, the IRS and many other non-e2e-encrypted services, and also that privacy collapsed a while ago.

Electronic eavesdropping matters because it is a tool to direct violence towards individual targets. Is it used more often to protect, i.e. direct the limited use of force to prevent greater violence, or to facilitate increasing violence? The net benefit is decreased violence.
