From what I know of Chinese surveillance and facial recognition, it is very heavily dependent on an array of highly trained neural networks—hundreds and hundreds of them, sitting in chairs at their workstations. But people want their cyberpunk fantasy.

I understand the intent is to zap cameras, but the more powerful green lasers that some protestors appear to be using can cause permanent eye damage.
