The page is yet again full of tracking scripts served by God knows who, all of whom have a vested financial interest in the issues raised by the op-ed. The New York Times public editor would be incensed, if they hadn't eliminated the role.
A new disclosure low for the New York Times. Not only do they fail to mention their financial relationship with the target of this op-ed (Google) and one of the target's chief rivals (Amazon), they also don't identify the author as a board member of yet another rival (Facebook).pic.twitter.com/thL72dZLKA

Imagine if the print copy of this op-ed came with little automated trackers that notified the principal companies under discussion, and half a dozen intermediaries, with the exact time and location of when you opened the page. Imagine that the NYT got money from them in return.

Jeez. Facebook board member? And I thought he could not get any more evil than I’d heard Cancel Facebook, and a heap of passports, bank accounts imo

I’m surprised that people who know his name might not know that about him because Zuckerberg depicts his presence on the Board as evidence of Facebook’s “diversity.”https://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-hiltzik-thiel-facebook-20161021-snap-story.html …

I’m with you on the author identification but, but the rest overly mis-represents how that ad service ‘financial relationship’ thing works

This is as bad as the time they had Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen write a T Mag cover story on “tech visionaries” that both her & her husband invested in.https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/erik-wemple/wp/2015/11/04/entrepreneur-profiles-in-new-york-times-t-magazine-more-conflicted-than-advertised/ …
