dear old, white, man cycling along in the middle of the pavement next to the cycling lane; thanks for showing your privilege so clearly! share the road is just for the cars, right?

to be able to do it without consequences? Yeah. He wanted the other people's lane because he needs it more than the mum with a stroller or the old guy with a walking stick

a two lane London road with a cycle lane on each side and a sidewalk on each side; lots of shops, coffee shops, bus stops, apartment blocks and the entrance to a tube station. School is down a side road, doctor's office halfway along. Lots of foot traffic, lots of cyclists too

I'm still struggling with why the cyclist is in the road but the mom with stroller and old guy with the walking stick are...? I want to be outraged but need to see this in my head!

So the cyclist is on the sidewalk along with the baby and the old man with the stick. Her point is that the should be in the bike lane instead, which, fair enough.
