If you follow all the links, the author is citing to the "uniquely Russian" war technique of "maskirovka". The first cited historical example of "maskirovka" on the Russian Wikipedia page is… the Battle of Cambrai in 1917. Unless Russian wikipedia is selectively misinforming me!
