I was on a school trip to florida and we watched it from the parking lot of our motel. With a car radio on so we could hear the commentary. I have pictures, not knowing what was happening at the time.

Bonus points if it's a Kennedy mooning, Moon disaster, or Challenger landing.

An old dude was telling me that he heard about the Kennedy assassination right at the Nathan's Famous clam counter where I was working at the time. I remember older kids telling Soviet jokes about the Challenger disaster as we were all smoking hollow vine sticks (it was a thing)

I was 4 years old when the Challenger exploded. It was a big deal to me because my father was a finalist for the Teacher In Space spot. Luckily he was not chosen.
