We have the policy because someone asked about it, mentioning (correctly) that without a written policy, employees can't actually know if they'll still have a job when they're displaced by a wildfire or by a storm or by flooding.

honestly, with a nationwide distributed staff at 18F, we needed to wrestle with GSA leave policies on this several times (for hurricanes & fires) during my 10 months as Chief of Staff.
