Also, the reality of high-dollar fundraising from rich liberals is that you do it most effectively by making everyone in the room feel guilty and awful. I've been at events where plutocrats listen to themselves get roasted to cinders, applaud, and then write a maximum-size check.

Does your opinion on this point include Warren? (I’m not clear enough on exactly what you mean here to tell)
-
I have no idea how Warren is fundraising, but I hope it is in a way that maximizes her time (that is, going in front of rooms of rich people).

How do you get from “isn’t correctly minmaxing their fundraising game” to “shouldn’t be president”?
-
I see fundraising as a small test of your ability to manage your time and resources, and to work effectively within a broken system. So if a Presidential candidate is really struggling there, it makes me think they would struggle in similar ways once in office

OTOH in 2016 the Sanders campaign sent me a fundraising email of the form "We're proud of the fact that our donor's average contribution is X dollars! Would you like to make a donation of 10X dollars right now?"
-
I'll give them this: That campaign has proven remarkably successful at appearing principled even when it isn't, to the point where it receives criticism like yours for being TOO principled

My understanding from this article https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5c78605ee4b0de0c3fbf4eb9 … is that maintaining relationships with larger donators is a colossal waste of time for congresspeople. Maybe that’s different for presidents, though.
