my students choose their blog platform and their site publishing platform; some choose WordPress (esp. those with publishing experience already, which is great)...tho for beginners, other tools can be easier, and I think that's fine...yes, Tom, I know: hot dogs! I'm an enabler...

No judgement from me. That was the intent of that presentation. Make hot dogs for people who like hot dogs. Here is a random selection of courses in WordPress that I remembered to bookmark. Lots of different things in there & variations in intent https://pinboard.in/u:twwoodward/t:rampages/t:course/ …

You can remove rampages from the tag string and get some more but it's mostly that. VCU stuff has internal currency that external things often don't. You can scan the tags at the full list if you want, I'm not terribly consistent. https://pinboard.in/u:twwoodward Too much is in my head.

@Pinboard has all the classic http://del.icio.us stuff which is very nice (same api structure I believe as well) plus the person who runs it is awesome1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

does it have truly public tags? that's what I missed most from delicious moving to diigo; you cannot see a stream for tags used by multiple people (like Twitter hashtags): it's by-person-by-tag, https://www.diigo.com/profile/lauragibbs?query=%23datamongering … ... I also miss the old randomize feature that delicious had!

I too thought diigo had nuked site-wide tags. But
@avunque showed me- seems to need the ?tab=153 on end https://www.diigo.com/tag/datamongering?tab=153 … https://www.diigo.com/tag/prcon?tab=153 …2 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -
it is a little embarrassing how excited I am about this, ha ha... but I am remembering all the things I used to do with public tags at delicious and how that might fit into the kinds of things I now do with my class all these years later. THANK YOU people!!!

Let me know if you run into any old delicious features that you still need. Keeping them alive is something of a mission for me

If I'm correct, Pinboard now has everything to rename tags (well it's add tags, then delete)... is there a merge?
