I'm writing a thing about congressional campaign security and am curious who people think should be in charge of it. All the answers are problematic; feel free to suggest others in comments.
Well, it depends on where in the giant reporting structure you stick it. But I'll point out that this question is about campaign security, which is a different animal than election security (an equally important issue)

Many ways to skin this cat, none of which look like today's reality. I can imagine a world without Citizens United where we have democracy vouchers to support candidates we like. In that de-funded world, a gov.-run agency could work if insulated from politicians (e.g. The Fed).

I don't understand how public financing of campaigns is relevant to having a government agency for campaign security in your argument.
