Kind of horrified at how many of you are voting for 'Federal agency'. The only point of contact right now between campaigns and the Federal government is the FEC (which monitors compliance with finance laws), and that's a big structural strength of our democracy.

Do you see the FEC as insufficient?

The FEC right now has a remit specific to campaign finance. An analogy would be asking the IRS to protect your email account. I don't think it's a good idea to expand the FEC's role into campaign security.

The federal reserve is a good model for this IMO.

Oddly, I think the parties should handle it, with the caveat that they take it extremely seriously. Maybe make the campaigns accountable to the parties, and the parties directly accountable to a Federal board.

I don't think that's a bad approach at all.
