I’ve got no dog in this fight, but can confidently relate that Chrome business users are spending millions of dollars mitigating the security externalities of the old Chrome manifest v2.

I don’t know if they’re doing the exact right thing to balance ad blocking use cases with security, but I’m very sure it can’t stay the way it is right now.

The basic problem here is that the company making home security systems is owned by the largest burglary ring in town, and they get offended when you question their motives. "We're removing your dog's sharp teeth for safety." Maybe it's true, but people are not wrong to wonder!
