Really good article in the New York Times about how campaign finance law makes it nearly impossible to secure campaigns. The way things work right now, the nightmare scenario for Google's Advanced Protection Program, worse than every campaign in the country getting hacked, was if I had passed the sample devices they gave me to a campaign. They made me swear in blood. That's a misaligned incentive

The fact that the Senate leader is refusing to consider any kind of campaign or election security laws, the kind of laws that would have passed 100-0 in an earlier political climate, is a national emergency. Now it has to go stand in line with all the other national emergencies
