Dear Lazyweb: I want to sign a 2 year contract for a full cabinet, with 100 Mbps capped bandwidth, somewhere seismically safe. Currently I pay $600/month for this in Fremont, and $1500 in Sacramento (with more bandwith). What are good facilities to look at in this price range?

FWIW: tectonic risks are considered in the layout of our availability zones. us-west-1 is spread across the bay, ap-northeast-1 includes a zone that's quite distant from the rest of Tokyo. You can also use a region in a non-seismically active location!

I'm not saying they aren't planned for! I'm saying this is beyond the limits of planning, due to unanticipated feedbacks, couplings, and failure cascades

What would it take to move you to the cloud? It's quite seismically safe up there
