Anybody have a recommendation for a decent human-luggable RAID enclosure with 8-12 bays for offsite backup? Use case is haul it into a data center, let it fill up, and then haul it to storage. I prefer a dumb box of disks easy to administer from a ubuntu server or mac laptop.
Thanks for the suggestion! Last time I looked at Drobos, they were kind of overpriced for the capacity they offered (I think the selling point was zero configuration/admin), but that was a while ago and I'll look again

Yeah, they’re kinda pricey. You could probably buy a used HP DL or Dell server and make it into a NAS
