Anybody have a recommendation for a decent human-luggable RAID enclosure with 8-12 bays for offsite backup? Use case is haul it into a data center, let it fill up, and then haul it to storage. I prefer a dumb box of disks easy to administer from a ubuntu server or mac laptop.

When I was a kid, a good dot matrix printer cost around $400, and now I see that it costs $400 again. The wheel of progress has turned!pic.twitter.com/8CmYxTQJRa

Do you need hardware RAID or are you happy with an 8-Bay enclosure that you do the legwork to actually turn into a RAID?
